Wir Salzburger lieben unsere Baustellen; hier der Makartplatz mit der Dreifaltigkeitskirche und einem neu eröffneten Exemplar.
Ihr Blogger liebt sie wegen der wunderbaren Rot- und Leuchtfarben vor würdigem Altstadtgrau – und wir alle lieben sie, weil wir etwas zum Schimpfen haben: über die mangelnde Koordination der Baumaßnahmen, über das ohnehin fehlende Verkehrskonzept, über den angeblich geplanten 'Stau in Salzburg'. Was die hier verlinkte Verkehrsplattform manchmal betreibt, empfindet Ihr Blogger allerdings als wüste Hetze gegen den grünen Verkehrsstadtrat.
Ihr Blogger begnügt sich damit, sich zur Entlastung im Stau besagten Verkehrsstadtrat vor einem riesigen Kontrollpult (Marke James Bond) vorzustellen, wie er sich wie Rumpelstilzchen über jeden neuen Stau freut – selbstverständlich ist Ihr Blogger seit Jahrzehnten Grünwähler, hat also diesen Stadtrat mit gewählt. Außerdem weiß er, dass für die meisten dieser Leitungsbaumaßnahmen gar nicht der Verkehrsstadtrat zuständig ist.
Zu wünschen wäre ein wirkliches Verkehrskonzept – etwa Individualverkehr raus aus der Innenstadt. Dass der grüne Stadtrat hier nicht so kann wie er will, liegt unter anderem an der Wirtschaftslobby, die so gerne gegen ihn hetzt und ihm die Verantwortung für die Staus in die Schuhe schiebt.

As mentioned before your blogger likes them for their image values, like those reds and fluorescent colours in front of that noble old city grey. But we all also love them because it's lots of reasons to complain – about the lack of coordination, the lack of an overall traffic concept for a city that seems to burst in its seams from all that traffic.
Traffic planning in the city administration is in the hands of a Green Party member; he seems to be one of the best hated persons in town. Your blogger who doesn't own a car but drives one on the job has been voting green for decades. He would love to see our councillor pull through something serious like 'individual traffic out of the city centre' but there is a suspicion: the very people who make the councillor responsible for the traffic jams in the city are the ones that prevent such a concept for economic reasons – call it individual traffic as a holy cow ... 
Without any suspicion against any one of the following – in Salzburg you find the largest Mercedes-Benz dealer in Austria, the head quarters of Porsche Holding, largest dealer of all of the brands of Volkswagen and the largest auto retailer all over Europe, BMW Austria etc.
